One Defiant Health Journey
Emma can speak with a Defiant Health doctor right away. She comes away understanding her personal risk and with a clear plan for next steps.
The Defiant Health team collects all her relevant medical records and immediately starts scheduling the right imaging and lab tests for her.
Within a few days, Emma visits a local Defiant Health radiology partner for more answers. She has a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound, which is immediately reviewed by an expert radiologist who recommends a biopsy.
Emma can get the biopsy done in the same visit, saving her many days of uncertainty.
Emma gets a phone call from her Defiant Health doctor to discuss her biopsy results and answer her questions. Instead of drowning in jargon, Emma knows exactly what’s going on and what comes next.
Emma’s Defiant Health doctor works with her to create a personalized plan. Together, they find the right oncology team based on her diagnosis, risk, medical history, and personal preferences.
Defiant helps Emma schedule any advanced imaging and tests that would be needed by her oncology care team. Defiant handles records transfer, and packages up diagnostic results and medical history.
Emma’s oncology care team has everything they need to get started right away. Emma feels confident knowing she’ll continue to be in the right hands. And if she doesn't understand something in her treatment plan, her Defiant Health team is always there to help.

What our partners do
For in-person imaging and testing services, Defiant works with a select network of local partners. These partners typically bill insurance and their services are not part of Defiant’s fee.
Answers to commonly-asked questions
Yes, Defiant can work with your current primary care doctor or other specialists (such as a gynecologist) to help coordinate your care throughout the process. If you don’t have a primary care doctor, we can still help you.
Defiant currently offers services in the Greater Boston and South Shore areas of Massachusetts. We start with virtual consults with our expert clinicians that can be done in your own home. From there, we can help facilitate lab testing through your local Labcorp or Quest (if needed) and get you expedited appointments at our partner imaging facility located in Norwell, MA.
The goal of Defiant is to reduce the number of steps you have to take to get the answers you need. We’ll avoid repeating any diagnostic steps and only do so if it is in the best interest of your health.
All imaging and labs ordered by your Defiant Health clinician will be billed directly to your insurance by our partners. Defiant Health's clinical services and virtual services are not covered by insurance but are offered for a flat fee of $399.
Defiant Health is unable to offer some services to HMO and Medicaid health plans. If you’re unsure whether your insurance plan is accepted, reach out to us at support@defianthealth.com.
Our imaging partner is considered in-network by most health plans in the state of Massachusetts. However, Defiant Health is currently unable to offer some services to HMO and Medicaid health plans. The following non-HMO health plans are considered in-network with our imaging partner:

No shows and cancellations within 24 hours of Defiant virtual consults will be charged a $99 cancellation fee. If another patient can take your appointment slot, we'll waive the fee.
